Home and School
We believe good communication between home and school is important for the happiness and success of the children.
Keeping in touch
Mrs. Shepherdson writes a weekly email with key events for the week ahead and we use the Schoop app to keep parents up to speed with what is happening in their child’s class and more widely at the school.
We encourage parents to talk to their child’s teachers whenever the need arises, whether it is to raise a concern, share information about events outside of school or to celebrate a child’s successes. The best time to make contact with your child’s teacher is at the end of the school day.
Mrs. Shepherdson is also always happy to meet parents to discuss any concerns. Please call or email the school office to arrange a suitable time.
Homework
Children will bring home reading books on a weekly basis. Encouraging and taking in interest in your child's progress by reading regularly together can make a huge difference.
Other ways to support at home are to practise the spellings or other work, such as times tables, that children will be learning for weekly tests.
Depending on your child's class, at different time children will be set other homework, that will either be a pre-cursor to a specific piece of work in class or it can be used to consolidate and revise what has been taught.
Our recent experience of remote learning means that all children will have access to a Hwb account.
Please get in touch with the school office if you need any IT support, or have any other difficulties getting online.
