We believe the children and school will thrive best as an active part of local life.
We also understand the importance of the school to the long-term vibrancy of our local communities.
Part of our curriculum includes the Welsh concept of “Cynefin,” the place where we feel we belong, helping children form a strong sense of place from which to explore and connect with the wider world.
We aim to make the most of the rich opportunities on our doorstep, including the Monmouth-Brecon canal and River Usk, visits to Cardiff and the Senedd, arts and theatre trips, sporting competitions and excursions into the Beacons.
In the village of Llangynidr itself, children get involved throughout the year, including being part of the annual Remembrance Service in the adjoining church of St. Cynidr, singing in local concerts, entering events in Llangynidr Agricultural Show, and being part of Llangynidr Refugee Welcome Day.
